New Franklin County Animal Shelter "Grand Opening"

The "Grand Opening" of the new $1.4 million, 6,000 sq ft facility will be Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The public is welcome to tour the facility, there will be a law enforcement K9 demonstration and hotdogs will be available for purchase. 

The new building is brightly lit with plenty of natural lighting and has an easy to navigate floor plan. The new facility is more than three times the size of the previous shelter which was built in the early 1970’s.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 and attended by the Franklin County Board of Supervisors, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Public Safety, Angels of Assisi, Franklin County Humane Society, and more.
